After their successful collaboration on Taming of the Shrew at Shakespeare's Globe, Irish director Caroline Byrne, hired Joe as Physical Theatre Director for her production of Marina Carr's, "Woman & Scarecrow" at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. The set was designed as a bedroom viewed from above, and Joe's job was to teach the actors to climb "up" the floor, crawl under a vertical bed and open doors while lying down. A darkly funny play staged in a surreal, eccentric way, it was praised by the staff and students at RADA, and won accolades from the sell out crowds.
